I want to share my journey during these days of ups and downs, not knowing what or when or how the next challenge will come. Through it all I've been dealing with chronic pain and unable to find relief for my current body. (Three major back surgeries in five years.) Now all medical facilities have closed down just as my doctors agreed on a treatment plan.
So this corona virus is a situation that may daze or startle us for the present. But it’s not without hope. This hope is not a cure or a vaccine or a solution for the shaky unpredictable economy. But it’s a hope for every situation, every anxious thought or fear.
This hope is found in the Creator of Hope. He created the human heart, the human body, its DNA and its every part. If I start with any other person, place, or thing, there is only futility, anxiety and frustration. If I start with the Creator of Hope, I have peace for my heart with a deep confidence that He is working all together for good. Jesus is the only Living Hope today, tomorrow, and forever. I'll tell you how He is encouraging my heart as I live out each day.
There are so many good things that could never have been anticipated. I want my journey to rest with those things and not the hard things. The good things are gifts of God. So the Creator of Hope is my first Corona Daze gift. My life would be totally incomplete without Him. I feel privileged to walk through this time in history with Him at my side.
My second Corona Daze gift is my husband. I don't know how he puts up with my pain battles and comes alongside to battle them with me and cheer me on. He serves me tirelessly (almost). Without him God would have to make a truly remarkable new way, a miracle, which I know He can do. But that's not what's appointed for now.
So in this blog I'm going to share what's happening in my Corona Daze and all the good gifts He is giving day by day. Wow, I am so grateful. I hope you will be too.
Oh, I'm adding the prayer-poem I wrote today. I want to write a new poem every day, with every post, ones that can be sung. This one's called "Lord of My Heart."
John 14:27: Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
Lord of My Heart
You’re the Lord of my heart,
And the Lord of my days.
You hold my destiny,
In all of your ways.
I wait on you, Lord,
For more of your love.
Come with your Spirit,
O, come Heavenly dove.
I offer all to you,
The contents of my heart.
Take out the rubbish,
Fill every part.
Open my eyes,
To see more of you.
Desiring Your goodness,
Let my words be few,
I’m like a hungry bird,
Knocking at your door,
Always coming back to you,
Hungering for more.
Show me Your Face, Lord,
Let Your glory shine.
My heart is Yours, now,
Reveal Your heart in mine.
Amen
