Daze 34: My Country Tis of Thee?

This morning I was reading the story of the composer of the song "My Country, Tis of Thee," and how he rewrote an old hymn to create this patriotic loyalty. Then I thought of rewriting it again--this time to match the desire of my heart during this COVID-19 time.

My Jesus, You are Lord

Sing to the tune of My Country, Tis of Thee

My Jesus, You are Lord,

            Kind Heart from Father sent

            Of You I sing.

Jesus who died for me,

Jesus who lives for me,

Til life’s last breath I breathe,

            Let praises ring.
