Daze 14: Corona and Crowns

I've been thinking all week about the connection between Corona and crowns. Corona means crown and can mean a part of the body resembling a crown, like the crown of your hear. Or it can mean a crown on someone's head, signifying royalty, or having won a race. Then today is Good Friday, the day we honor Jesus for wearing a crown and so much more on the Cross.

As I thought about crowns and their various context, I found four significant ones that affect our lives.

1. Corona, the virus we now find bringing life as we once knew it to a halt. Not a crown anyone wants to claim or wear.
2. Corona, the crown Jesus wore on the cross.
3. Corona, the crown Jesus wears on the Heavenly Throne with His Father.
4. Corona, the crown to be given to those who complete the race called life.

So here are my reflections and Good Friday meditations in the poem, "Which Crown Will You Wear?" I hope it will focus your heart on the Center of the universe and the One who loves you no matter what and most of all. He proved it on the Cross.

Which Crown Will You Wear?
Hebrews 4:16; James 1:12; Revelation 20:11-13

This present crown called Corona
Only lives a very short while.
Its time will soon be done and past,
And back to Life we’ll file.

But Jesus bore the crown,
They pushed hard into His head.
He knew it was not over,
The grave would not be fed!

There is another throne and crown,
            Where judgment awaits your life.
Come before Your heart is shown,
Be rid of sin, selfishness and strife.

Run with all your strength of heart,
Before the Great White throne, Take heed!
Here all records and lives are revealed,
But the Book of Life is all you need.

Jesus waits with open heart,
To help you win life’s race.
Here He is crowned with majesty,
When we come to His throne of grace.

There is yet another waiting crown,
That no one else can wear.
Jesus wears it on His throne,
            Where praises fill the air.

So whatever challenges you face, as you
            Persevere through each hard trial,
There is another crown awaiting you,
For those who run the last mile.

So worship Him with all your heart,
            Worthy is His Name.
Now only Jesus wears the crown,
The Lamb has won all fame!
