Here are a few of the recent changes for me this week.
1. Yesterday? It's been so long since Lillybelle, our pup, had her last grooming since groomers are closed. So bought a dog grooming kit and I tried to cut her very long nails. Blood started pouring out of her right front paw while my loving daughter held her. I missed the nail because she tried to shake loose. I hate it when I hurt her.
You should see the hair cut she has now. I wasn't cut out (!) for grooming dogs. I paid for a grooming kit of clippers, electric shears, etc and then paid more when I found out our vet would cut her nails. I'm sure we'll recover, my pup and me, but I'm still a bit shaky.
2. I've had two video doctor visits in the last month which were somewhat helpful. But it seems more accurate to see them in person and be examined where necessary. Dealing with pain is not my choice while dealing with the effects of the quarantine changes imposed on us all.
3. Not to mention my own shaggy hair, now almost 4 months out since a cut.
The longer this goes, the more things there are to miss.
So where are we at, this end of April, 2020? We are in God's good purposes. Some day we'll know what those are, but for now I trust Him to fulfill what He wants done through all of this, and in me.
Help me, Lord, I’m struggling,
In the weight of so much change.
Heavy are the challenges
It all seems so strange.
I want to trust you now,
To live my life in You.
Show me how to take it in--
To give thanks in all the new.
Here are choruses from 2 Songs that express my heart:
All my life You have been faithful
All my life You have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able
I will sing of the goodness of God.
All my life You have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able
I will sing of the goodness of God.
You are Way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper
Light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are
Light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are
