Today I woke up feeling fine except for a pain in my eye where I hit the ground. So my choice in all of this, is that no matter what each day brings, not to be dazed by it all. Instead I choose to be dazzled. Jesus is at the highest place -- the throne of God. In fact, He's at God's right hand and He's interceding for me. So that’s my poem for today, called Dazed or Dazzled, based on Philippians 2:6-11:
Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Dazed or Dazzled
Verse 1
My choices in this season,
Are so many
to stand tall.
Do I choose to be dazed,
And to cry
when I fall?
Or do I choose to be dazzled
By God’s
goodness through it all?
Refrain
I choose to be dazzled
By God’s goodness and His grace.
I choose to be dazzled
Because He took my place.
I choose to be dazzled
Now I get to run the race.
I choose to be dazzled
For there’s nothing left but grace.
Verse 2
Each day may be so different,
Yet they all
seem the same.
Without my view through God’s lens,
My heart
will lose its aim.
With my view through His lens
My heart
will praise His Name.
Verse 3
So I choose to be dazzled
So I choose to be dazzled
By Jesus’ on
the cross.
He made Himself nothing,
To rid me of
my dross.
His compassion through His death
Is my gain through
His own loss.
Verse 4
So now I'm so dazzled
So now I'm so dazzled
By the King
on the throne.
God gave Him the highest place.
His brilliance
there is shown.
Now my heart if filled with thanks,
God made
me His very own.
